RAMS Deep Dive

Describe the Work.
The AI Writes the RAMS.

An eight-step process that creates a complete risk and method statement from plain language. What took hours now takes minutes.

Essential. Slow. Usually recycled.

RAMS are essential. Every project needs one. Writing them is slow, repetitive, and often done last minute. Many just copy from previous jobs with a simple name change.

The process is always the same: describe the method, identify hazards, list controls, define PPE, set site rules, and confirm competencies. Most contractors start in Word, using old templates that don't match the current work.

When they do write them, hazard identification is often generic. Controls are standardised, and PPE sections are recycled. It ticks the box but doesn't reflect real risks.

Eight steps. Each builds on the last.

A structured AI process generates a complete, activity-specific RAMS. Describe your activity in plain language. Type it or dictate it. Walk around the site and explain what you're doing. The AI takes it from there.

The Eight Steps

One button at a time

Every step has its own button. Each produces a defined output. Every step builds on the last.

Details

Enter basic information: project, activity, location, date. This is the foundation for everything that follows.

Method Steps

Describe what you’re doing in plain language, typed or dictated. No need for formal writing. Just explain the activity as if talking to someone on site. Hit the button. The AI generates clear, structured method steps. Review, adjust if needed, apply them, and move on.

Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment

The AI reads your method steps and identifies hazards from two sources: your organisation’s health and safety database, and the platform’s CDM knowledge base — regulations, HSE guidance, and industry-standard hazard libraries. Every hazard is linked to your specific method steps, not a generic list.

PPE & Resources

Four AI routes, each with its own button: PPE requirements based on method steps and hazards, tools and plant to carry out the work safely, materials needed for the activity, and access equipment based on the method steps. Each output is tailored to your activity and identified risks.

Site Controls

The AI considers everything from the previous steps and generates site control requirements: environmental considerations, noise controls, housekeeping, pedestrian and public protection, fire safety, lighting, security arrangements, and required permits. If your method involves hot work, the fire safety section reflects that.

Competence

The AI generates required competencies — qualifications, training, cards, and tickets. If the method involves electrical work, it lists the relevant competencies. If it includes confined space entry, the training requirements reflect that. Everything is based on the documented method and hazards.

Review

The complete RAMS document is compiled from all six AI-generated sections. Read it through, make final adjustments, and confirm you’re satisfied.

Every step builds on the last

Method steps inform hazard identification. Hazards inform PPE and resources. Everything informs site controls and competencies. The AI isn't generating eight separate sections — it builds one cohesive document grounded in what came before.

It's the same process you'd follow if writing it yourself. The difference is it takes minutes instead of hours, and nothing gets missed because the AI systematically works through every step.

Dictate it

You don't have to type. Every AI interaction in the RAMS process supports dictation. Walk around site, describe the activity into your phone, and the AI generates method steps from it.

This is designed for site managers, not office workers. You describe what you see, what you plan, and how the work will be carried out. The AI handles the rest.

Your knowledge. The platform's knowledge. Combined.

Hazard identification doesn't start from scratch. It draws on two knowledge sources:

  • Your organisation's H&S database — every hazard and control measure recorded. The more you use it, the smarter it gets about your operations.
  • The platform's knowledge base — CDM regulations, HSE guidance, COSHH data, CITB training standards, and industry-standard hazard libraries.

The AI prioritises your data and produces hazard identification that's both compliant and specific to your organisation's needs.

Built by a contractor who produces these every week.

We don't write RAMS for fun. We write them because they're required for every project, and they must be right. This tool exists because we got tired of the slow process on every job — and we knew AI could help if structured correctly.

Common questions about RAMS

Not a template. Not a chatbot. A structured process.

The same RAMS that took two hours to write now takes minutes. And it's better because every section is generated from the actual activity, not recycled from a past project.
